Course Overview
The purpose of this qualification is to represent a planned combination of learning outcomes in the field of business, commerce and management studies and specifically the sub-field of banking which has the purpose to provide qualifying learners the competence and the basis for further learning.
The qualification further promotes the enhancement, marketability and employability of learners and plans to open the access routes to additional education and training through this process. It further has the purpose of providing benefits to society and the economy by enhancing citizenship, increasing social and economic productivity providing specifically skilled/professional people and transforming the redressing of legacies of inequity.
This qualification is suitable for persons wanting to work in the Financial services Sector and specifically in banking. The attainment of this qualification however opens opportunities for one to be able to work in the Insurance Industry as well.
With the incessant transformation happening in the Financial Services Sector individuals possessing this qualification can gain easy access to the field without any prior experience. Employees with experience but without a Banking qualification can be RPL’d to acquire this qualification to enhance their promotability.

Course Qualification
Competent learners will receive a BANKSETA National Certificate of competence with a minimum of 150 credits. Credits may vary depending on the electives selected by the learner
